I thought I would do a blurb on how I create persona's for my characters. I was worried when I started writing about how I would define a character and keep their personality consistent. Well it just sort of happened that the personalities of my main characters are based on people I know. It made it a lot easier to think about how that person would react. There will be some readers, mostly family and friends that can pick a few out.

I have favorite characters too that I just love to write. In another book I am working on the main character is based on my nephew and it is fun and endearing even though the story is fiction.

Writers are either plotters or pantsers. Those who plan out the whole story in an outline and those who just write by the seat of their pants. I am definitely the latter. The historical research gives me a lot to work with and once I pick the characters I need and their personas, I just sit to write and let the story evolve.

That definitely hurt me when reaching out to some publishing houses that wanted an outline and that outline had to be in a specific format and then was appalled to read that they may never even read the book. I am trying to be better at an outline mostly so that my plot lines improve. I've taken a lot of classes but there is no perfection, there is just me, telling a story.
