.....Fair to the Wind

As noted in my earlier entry, Eli is bringing Samantha to meet her mother. She is Mary Clayton aka the infamous Mame Tucker who ran away to join the Buffalo Bill Wild West show. True story. She is back at the Elm Lawn Manor in Wiscasset, Maine.

Eli has not seen or heard from Jim since the fiasco at the end of book one when Jim left town with the wrong woman. 

Jim is on his way home from an extended stay in Ireland where his father recently passed. He is coming to Wiscasset with his nephew Patrick at the helm of the Aubrey Jean. Patrick will be immigrating to the US and partnering with his Uncle on the trade business. Patrick or ‘Paddy’ as his friends call him is not arriving in the Sheepscot area alone. His best friend from childhood Jack McGee is with him. A strong kid who has worked on the water with Paddy is kind and responsible, and will always have his back. Jack plays the harp and likes to sing and can goad Paddy into an Irish Sea shanty or two. Dod McCobb is a red head Paddy met in a trade finance class. He is as tall as Paddy and can go toe to toe in a fist fight but they would both rather be friends and are a dynamic duo together. Dod has family in Phippsburg and is along for the ride. Finn O’Rourke is the best technical cartographer. He might not have the experience and natural aptitude as Paddy but he will some day captain his own ship.  

Mariah is in staying at a cottage in Falmouth near enough to Stony Manor, awaiting the turn of events whatever they may be.
